Poor Form - Paolozzi @ The Arches
Poor Form
9 - 28 August
Waverley Arches, Edinburgh
Free Entry
place+platform present Poor Form; an exhibition in collaboration with artists from Poor Art* collective and part of Edinburgh Beer Factory's Paolozzi @ The Arches, festival pop-up.
Much like the Pop-Art movement of the 50s and 60s of which Edinburgh artist Paolozzi was king, this exhibition takes inspiration from popular culture, with lo-fi wit and humour at it's core.
Featuring art work by local artists Abi Lewis, Emma Macleod, Julia Barbour, Michael Kay Terence, Sam Wood and Beth Carey.
Paolozzi @ The Arches
Edinburgh Beer Factory put together a first class line-up of the city’s freshest creative talent from the worlds of food, drink and art to create a pop-up food and drink venue in the four arches and courtyard on the junction of East Market Street and Cranston Street.
Food offerings from the pitt, artisanal spirits shaken up by The Pop Up Cocktail Kitchen, wine from Smith & Gertrude, hell - even haircuts from Rag & Bone Barbershop - all washed down with the tastiest local craft beer.
Besides pouring plenty of Paolozzi lager and our new BUNK! range, we're paying homage to some of Eduardo’s influences and his philosophy of re-making and re-presenting neglected objects and spaces. Art collective Place + Platform will be displaying original artwork in one of the arches, while 1930s cinema and all things Pop will provide a playful backdrop to drinking and dining.
